This series contains records pertaining to the origins of the current incarnation of CJP, including records from the United Hebrew Benevolent Association, Federated Jewish Charities, United Jewish Campaign, Combined Jewish Appeal and Associated Jewish Philanthropies. Included are by-laws, meeting minutes, correspondence and written histories that detail the growth of both the Boston Jewish community and CJP. Of particular interest is the act to consolidate Combined Jewish Appeal and Associated Jewish Philanthropies in 1960.
