Scope and Contents
This series contains materials related to Jewish organizations established in Peabody. These organizations include synagogues, community centers, cemetery associations, and charitable organizations, and fraternal clubs. Materials include minutes, membership lists, programs, awards, newspaper clippings, correspondence, and photographs. Of particular interest may be the records of the Chevara Kadisha of the Maple Hill Cemetery, which lists (in Hebrew) the names and dates of bodies ritually prepared for burial. A translated copy is included. Some items, including photographs and congregation seating charts, are located in an oversized box.
