Scope and Contents
This subseries contains correspondence, meeting minutes, photographs, legal documents, news clippings, memos, project files, reports, and patents documenting ASO’s founding and subsequent operation of Moleculon Research Corporation. Project files detail MRC’s developments, including Poroplastic, a color change indicator, and the synthesis of tetrabenzimadole (TBI). Of particular interest may be the legal battle surrounding the cube puzzle developed by MRC research scientist Larry Nichols in 1969. Patented in 1972, MRC sued Ideal Toy Corporation, manufacturer of the well-known Rubik’s Cube, for patent infringement. Some folders are restricted.
