This sub-series primarily contains materials relating to the life and career of Sidney R. Rabb and includes biographical information, newspaper clippings, speeches, and certificates. Most of the materials focus on Sidney Rabb’s community involvement and achievements, including his numerous awards, board and trustee positions, philanthropy, and speeches. SRR’s speeches cover Stop & Shop events well as community and food industry events, including a 1965 Supermarket Institute speech called “Management and Civil Rights.” The series also includes a small amount of material about Sidney’s wife Esther.
