Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series consists of correspondence, invitations, and banquet programs that document Stone's personal life. Included are biographical and autobiographical information , as well as programs for several dinners and banquets at which he spoke. Also included is his personal correspondence and the sheet music for a song entitled "My Homeland," for which Stone wrote the lyrics. The series also contains material on a banquet in honor of Stone's service to Lithuania, at which the Consul-General of Lithuania presented Stone with the decoration of Gediminas Grand Duke of Lithuania, III (Commander) degree, his invovlement with the Federation of American Jews of Lithuanian Descent and the Meretz Free Loan and Relief Associations, material pertaining to Stone's attempt to gain an audience with the Pope in 1927, and material on several tributes to Stone. Some material is in Hebrew and Yiddish.
