Financial Records, Merrill Lynch, Dupont and Co., 1960

This subseries contains the family records of Rudolph and Sara Wyner and includes membership information and awards received by both Sara and Rudolph from various organizations, including the Masonic Grand Lodge of Massachusetts: Rising Star, Associated Jewish Philanthropies, the Greater Boston Chapter of the Military Order of the World War, American Jewish Congress, Temple Israel Sisterhood and Beth Israel Hospital, both of Boston. Also included is a 1952 certificate for Rudolph Wyner given by the American Arbitration Association appointing him to the National Panel of Arbitrators.

The correspondence in this sub-series is comprised of condolences on the death of George Wyner, general letters to family from Rudolph, as well as letters from him to family while on a 1949 trip to Europe. In addition there is a letter with attached form from the War Service Committee, the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States dated 1918.

Other records of particular interest are those describing Rudolph's involvement with his 25^th reunion at Harvard, class of 1915, as well as books and notebooks used by Rudolph while he attended the Roxbury Latin School. Other documents describe real estate owned by Samuel and Gertrude Goldberg, parents of Sara Goldberg Wyner, and include properties in such greater Boston communities as Medford, Cambridge, Brookline, Dorchester, Whitinsville and Charlestown. Of particular interest are financial documents concerning the Wyner family's connection to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel of Boston and includes annual account reports, stock certificates and stock confirmation statements. Other financial documents of interest are those describing the activities of the R.H. Wyner Trust, the S&R Wyner Trust and the George Wyner Trust. Among the documents in this part of the collection are annual reports, tax forms, endowment agreements, various reports and legal documents concerning the trusts, correspondence and copies of wills.

In addition, this sub-series also contains records that describe Rudolph's military service during World War I, postcards from Havana, Cuba, poems written by Rudolph, and stereoscope cards of South America, Asia, the Middle East, India, Europe and the United States, circa 1900.

Of special interest are two journals that were kept by Rudolph, one when he was a 14-year old boy and which chronicles his day-to-day life, especially noting the activities and sporting events at Roxbury Latin School, Boston; the other is a journal he kept of his wedding and honeymoon in 1923.
