Photographs, Family: General, undated
Scope and Contents
The photograph sub-series contains family, business and organizational photographs, negatives and slides depicting the activities of the Wyner family, friends and associates. There are extensive photographs of family events such as weddings, graduations and organizational work. Of particular interest are the early photographs of Shawmut Woolen Mills when it was located at the old French and Ward facility and shows both interior and exterior views. The interior views present images of workrooms with employees at the various tasks of yarn and fabric making along with the different machines used in the process.
The subseries also documents, through photographic images, "The Unsinkable Squall," a boat created by the Chestnut Hill Boat Company, images of the Sudbury Skating & Tennis Club, and photographs of the Vanta Company's facilities and products. Also included are general photographs of various equipment and machinery used by the Wyner companies in their mill operations.
In addition, this sub-series contains photographs of the organizational activities and events of such organizations as Action for Soviet Jewry Vilna Ghetto Jewish Renaissance Society, Beth Israel Hospital, Temple Israel Boston, The New England Chassidic Center (Justin Wyner Man of the Year Award Ceremony 1991), and Brookline Town Meetings.
The photographs are grouped in original order, many are not labeled.
