 File — Box: 1OS, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series contains three scrapbooks detailing the trips taken by Oscar and Celia Sterman and their involvement with numerous charities. Scrapbook 1 (blue) focuses exclusively on their trip to Israel in 1960, where they met prominent figures in Israeli business, including Yosef Baratz, founder of Degania, and President Itzhak Ben Zvi , and were shown several of the buildings their donations helped to construct. Scrapbook 2 (black) contains photographs of the buildings in Israel that the Stermans funded. These include the Max Pine Trade School, a youth center in Ayanot and a sports center in Eilat. Some photographs are of the Stermans at opening ceremonies. Scrapbook 3 (brown) depicts the Stermans' travels throughout Israel. Also included are loose photographs and documents from the scrapbooks that were removed to folders due to their fragility. These folders are labeled to correspond with the scrapbooks.
