This collection contains papers of the Scheinfeldt and Calish families with the bulk of the materials chronicling the achievements and career of Jean Scheinfeldt. Included in the collection are vital records, specifically the birth certificates of Jean and Florence Scheinfeldt and Bertha Calish, Florence’s sister; the death certificates of Joseph, Florence and Jean Scheinfeldt; and the marriage certificate, or ketubah, of Joseph and Florence Scheinfeldt. Other certificates include military records, a copyright registration, and organizational certificates awarded to Jean Scheinfeldt. Additional materials in the collection include the deed to burial plots purchased by Samuel Calish, correspondence between Joseph and Florence Scheinfeldt on their first wedding anniversary, a television program guide published by Joseph Scheinfeldt, a brief biography of a relative, Anne Daniels Caras, a sketch of the Calish family tree, Jean Scheinfeldt’s graduation programs, report card, resume, news clippings and other papers of personal significance. There are also photographs of family members and personal artifacts.
