This series contains programs, brochures, pamphlets, planning materials, photographs, evaluations, reading materials, and scrapbooks of the many activities the Synagogue Council organized or co-sponsored with other organizations. These activities include anniversary receptions; programming for young adults, particularly the college youth program, High Holidays services for young adults, and Shabbat Shalom Boston; conferences and seminars on various... topics, including intermarriage, Jewish education, and the future of the Jewish people; advocacy for Israel, including Israeli independence day celebrations; and Project Ezra, the Christmas Day volunteer program. Also included are materials related to the Synagogue Council’s study opportunities, including KOLOT, NASHIRA, and LIMUD, as well as their unity programming, such as their annual Unity Mission and Unity Shabbaton. Additionally, this series contains materials on the Synagogue Council’s efforts to integrate Soviet Jewish immigrants into American and synagogue life, and their part in the fight to keep the Vilna Shul open. Some folders are restricted.
