Scope and Contents
This series describes Robert Sperber’s position as Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Personnel. Materials include correspondence, news clippings, speeches, general material from when he was a lecturer at Carnegie Institute, manuscript drafts and published works, as well as documents from the numerous programs and committees he worked on at this time. Of particular interest are the materials pertaining to Conscious Preferment, which includes correspondence for and against the program, as well as various pieces of hate mail and anti-Semitic brochures sent to Dr. Sperber in protest.
