Board Minutes, 1941-1951
Scope and Content Note
The collection contains two versions of the constitution of the Chevra as well as the minutes (1892-1904, 1911-1974), financial records (1898-1901, 1933-1968), and a ledger recording payments of individual members (1894-1931). Also included are copies of newsletters, program invitations, and other material relating to the Chevra's activities. Of interest in the minutes is mention of the Chebra Sons of Jacob in 1893-1895, a South End Hebrew Free School in 1896, and a note of an Association of Jewish Organizations of Massachusetts, which attempted to counteract the immigration bill of 1924.
