Scope and Contents
This series contains materials relating to Alan Taylor's academic, professional, and personal activities. Included are his Roxbury Memorial High School yearbook, and a bulletin from Harvard Phillips House announcing that he received an extension scholarship. Also included is employment information relating to his civilian service in the Navy during World War II. Awards and certificates relate to his volunteer activities and professional endeavors for the United States Navy, engineering and Health Care Administration. In the correspondence folder are letters from Captain Jeremy Wills of Buckingham Palace, Joseph Kennedy, James Curley, Lady Bird Johnson, Henry Cabot Lodge, Michael Dukakis, and Rabbi Joshua Loth Liebman of Temple Israel. Of note are pins he received for 20 and 30 years Naval service, Beneficial Suggestion from the Boston Navy Yard, 250th Anniversary Grand Lodge of Massachusetts A.F. and A.M., and Massachusetts Consistory M.W. Arthur Melanson Class.
