Misc., undated, 1971-1996
Scope and Contents
This subseries contains programs, fliers, publicity, news clippings, press releases and photographs from events held by the Boston District Workmen's Circle. Programs included a variety of lecture series, such as the Jewish History and Culture series, the First Sunday series, Women Exploring their Jewish Identities series, the Yiddish lecture series and the Yiddish Arts Series. Annual events like the Murdered Yiddish Writers and Jewish Storytelling Festival were sponsored by the Workmen's Circle, whereas the Jewish Film Festival and Israeli Independence Day were participatory, but not sponsored, by the Workmen's Circle. Also included in this sub-series are programs, correspondence, and notes from the 75th, 90th and 95th anniversaries, the latter which honored Representative Barney Frank with the Social and Economic Justice Award.
