Series III: Activities and Events, undated, 1912-2018,1986-2016
Scope and Contents
This series contains materials related to the shul’s programming, including major events like their centennial celebration, educational programming, rabbinic installations, and religious services. Events like the 2000 Chanukah party, include photographs. There is also information on the exhibit and booklet created with the Jackson Homestead and Museum in 1986, as well as other programs done with outside organizations. There’s an extensive collection of their monthly newsletter, The Adams Street Bulletin, and the shul mailers sent to congregants, as well as other publicity, including news coverage and pamphlets. Information on the shul’s placement on the National Register of Historic Places and associated events, like the placement of the plaque, are also included in this series. Other programs include a sefer Torah dedication and several tributes to leading members of the community. Additionally, there are historical objects, including language journals of Bessie Silberman, a yad, visitors register for the shul from 1992-2005, and an original grand opening sign from 1912.
