Biographical Note

Meyer Pollack (formerly Pancianski) was born on May 18, 1888 in or near Minsk, Russia (present-day Belarus). He immigrated to the United States circa 1903-1904 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. In 1910, he married Ida Bernstein, and the couple later relocated to Elizabeth, New Jersey, where they had two children, William (born circa 1914) and Raymond (born circa 191 6). The family later moved to Boston, where they had another son, Morris (born circa 1919). In Boston, Meyer worked as a boilermaker in the railroad industry, and later as a clerk at a radio store.
