Scope and Contents
This subseries contains art and artifacts collected by Bernard A. Margolis, as well as items related to his varied interests. Included are a sketch of the Boston Public Library by artist Nelson Chase (see Series B, Subseries III for more on Chase), a painting of the Carnegie Library in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Roger Howlett, a collection of stamps, and memorabilia related to sculptor Daniel Chester French. Also included is a portrait of Margolis by Channing Pena for an exhibit, Boston Faces, shown at the BPL in 2000. Some large format artwork is stored separate from the collection.
