Panoramic Photograph—Merle Mandell at Camp Trebor, Fryeburg, Maine, 1945
Scope and Contents
This series consists of photographs of the Bornstein family, Pearl Bornstein and Joseph Mandell’s college years, Bornstein and Mandell/Mandelbaum family and friends, and the Mandell children, Merle and Stephen. There are also silhouettes, tintypes, one domed painting in an oval frame, and one painting that has been removed from its frame. The cabinet cards are arranged by the studios where the photographs were taken. The photographs in the disassembled albums are not arranged chronologically, and some are duplicates of photographs in other folders. Many of the people in the photographs are unidentified. There are undated photographs that are likely earlier than 1907, the earliest dated photo in the series.
