Synagogues, 1947-1974
Scope and Contents
Articles in this series include documentation of events occurring at Synagogues. This also includes discussion of Synagogue affairs, mergers, dissolutions, and moves. Articles include Temple Mishkan Tefila's move to Newton, the merger of B'nai Hillel and B'nai Torah, and the attack on Agudath Israel. These events are notable, but this series is notable because of the documentation of regular actives in the synagogues, such as classes and events. Also of interest are the "Sabbath Eve Services" articles, which ran during the 1950s and 1960s. The articles give brief summaries of the sermons delivered from the pulpits that week.
